Medical physics and radiation protection for your facility

WiseRay carries out medical physics and radiation protection tasks for Swiss healthcare facilities, as individual projects or through ongoing support: when medical physics responsibility is not covered, an audit is approaching, dose values or processes raise questions, or your team needs training. You work directly with the person responsible for the specialist work.

Four service areas

Your task determines the scope of services.

Each service area starts with a typical assignment and brings together the services it requires. You can also select and combine the ten modules further below individually.

1 · Specialist responsibility

External medical physics and radiation protection

You want to ensure medical physics responsibility, radiation protection and documented quality on an ongoing basis or for a project.

Services in detail

WiseRay works with clearly defined interfaces with your management, quality management and clinical teams.

  • External MPE responsibility, ongoing, project-based or as backup
  • Review radiation protection organisation and responsibilities systematically
  • Equipment, room, configuration and process reviews
  • Structural radiation protection for new buildings, renovations or equipment replacements
  • Assess nuclear medicine, radiopharmacy and hybrid imaging in their specialist context

Your benefit: You obtain medical physics responsibility without creating an in-house position. Your teams know who is responsible for what, and you can provide traceable evidence of the necessary steps.

2 · Review and evidence

Audit preparation and compliance

You want a specialist assessment of the state of your documentation, processes and evidence before an audit, following changes or during ongoing operations.

Services in detail
  • QuickScan or detailed audit support
  • Consider rooms, equipment, configurations and documents together
  • Review the quality manual, SOPs and evidence structure
  • Baseline assessment in operating theatres, interventional settings or hot labs
  • Prepare a prioritised report with observations and an action plan

Your benefit: You identify gaps early, clarify responsibilities and plan improvements in a sequence that can be verified.

3 · Daily clinical practice

Dose, image quality and workflows

You want to assess dose, image quality and workflows together, understand causes and implement concrete improvements in daily clinical practice.

Services in detail
  • Dose and protocol review with a site assessment based on diagnostic reference levels (DRLs)
  • Review scan lengths, phases, protocols and image quality in CT
  • Observe operating theatre and C-arm workflows in practice
  • Include workflows in PET/CT, SPECT/CT and the hot lab
  • Prioritise and test suitable AI workflows under controlled conditions

Your benefit: You understand the workflows and causes behind the figures as well as the figures themselves, and can provide specialist justification and documentation for optimisations.

4 · Team continuing education

Institutional continuing education

Your team learns in a way suited to professional roles and daily clinical practice.

Online, no more than CHF 19 per UE, with lower package prices. On-site training for 5 or more people on request.

Services in detail

Learning progress and participation are documented; on request, you receive an overview of courses, completions and teaching units.

  • Interactive Academy courses for clinical roles and management
  • Training on site, online or in a hybrid format
  • C-arm, personal protective equipment (PPE), dose, nuclear medicine and safe routines
  • Combine team and management perspectives in one learning path
  • Training, completion and evidence structure suited to the assignment

Your benefit: The team develops a shared understanding, recognises typical misconceptions and relates continuing education to its own workflows.

Collaboration to suit your needs

How our collaboration begins.

1

Initial consultation

We clarify your goal, your equipment and the time frame. The initial consultation is free, takes around 45 minutes and is conducted in writing or by video.

2

Baseline assessment

We review rooms, equipment, responsibilities and documentation, on site if needed. You receive the QuickScan report with findings, measures and a timetable within 14 days.

3

Project or ongoing support

We agree on the scope, services and, for ongoing support, the reporting interval. You receive results, recommendations and next steps; ongoing support includes a designated contact person and annual planning.

Why outsource? Many facilities need in-depth medical physics expertise, established radiation protection practice and documented training without building all of this internally. WiseRay handles these tasks externally, in terms that make sense clinically and in coordination with management, quality management and teams.

Available individually

Ten modules, exactly as much as you need.

External medical physics

External medical physics responsibility (MPE), ongoing, project-based or as standby backup. Documentation is auditable and interfaces are clearly defined.

Audit and documentation

QuickScan or detailed audit support for rooms, equipment, configurations and documentation, with prioritised findings and a traceable action plan.

Constancy tests

Constancy tests and checks of equipment, rooms and processes in accordance with applicable Swiss requirements, documented test procedures and manufacturer specifications.

Dose and process optimisation

ALARA programme, dose review based on diagnostic reference levels (DRLs) and workflow analysis for CT, interventions and nuclear medicine.

Structural radiation protection

Room planning, shielding and configuration calculations for new buildings, renovations or equipment renewal.

Support with equipment procurement

Specifications, market research, technical evaluation and specialist support during acceptance for equipment investments. WiseRay does not perform the acceptance tests themselves.

Image quality and protocols

We review your radiology and CT examination protocols for image quality and settings and adapt them to the clinical question together with your team.

Tools and AI workflows

Our own tools and AI-assisted processes that streamline documentation, reporting and routine tasks: from QuickScan to an established workflow.

MRI and non-ionising imaging

Quality assurance, safety concepts and protocol advice for MRI and other non-ionising procedures.

WiseRay Academy and training

Interactive online courses combined with on-site or hybrid training for clinical teams, practices and industry partners. The interactive C-arm course shows how the content relates to daily clinical practice.

Pricing

How we prepare your quotation.

Fixed list prices rarely suit clinical medical physics. We therefore explain openly what determines your price.

Four factors determine the work required:

  • Site and modality: which equipment and procedures are involved, from radiography and CT through fluoroscopy to nuclear medicine, and how many sites are included.
  • Scope of the review: from a compact QuickScan to detailed audit support with a prioritised action plan.
  • Support frequency: a one-off project, project-based support or ongoing support with a fixed reporting interval.
  • Training: according to team size and format, on site, online or hybrid.

You can book each module individually. You receive an indicative price after the free initial consultation, during which we clarify your starting point.

What support do you need?

Describe your facility, starting point and goal. On this basis, we clarify which services you need and which modules can be combined for that purpose. Together, we define the goals of the project or ongoing support and assess improvements using agreed indicators.
